Tourism Noosa and Noosa Biosphere
Tourism Noosa have generally taken a mild interest in the hinterland, preferring to promote the  coast  attractions as a clean and green destination.

But we’ve got an emerging eco-tourism industry worth preserving. West Cooroy State Forest is a wonderful preserve for endangered species, it’s perfectly positioned to accommodate low-impact tourism activities such as bush walking, bird watching, mountain biking, and horse riding. Our quiet country roads are used by recreational and sporting cyclists, as well as by drivers out for a scenic rural experience. Meanwhile, landowners are busy making a real effort of rehabilitate and regenerate native species, and generally farm and graze the land in a sustainable manner.
Instead of encouragement from our council, they are close to approving a polluting, ugly broiler factory which, once in place, would impact longterm on all the environmental assets of West Cooroy and its residents, and create a no-go zone for tourists who don’t expect polluted waterways, smelly, noisy factory farms, and b-double road traffic to be part of the Noosa Biosphere and Tourism Noosa’s misleading green image.

Biosecurity risks for the Noosa District
Arguably the greatest risk would be to the Noosa and district tourism sector should bird flu strike the Top Forestry Road operation.

If a new human pandemic influenza virus emerges, there are provisions of the International Health Regulations (2005), including a number of public health interventions, which could have an impact on domestic and international travel.
